PROJECTS
We are incredibly excited to be working with Bekki at Adults Move Lincolnshire CIC to deliver Echoes 2026. Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, this meaningful project will see us take part in four Echoes tours across the year, beginning in April. Our PYDC dancers will be involved in the first tour, performing in sheltered accommodation centres across South Holland, where they are already preparing for valuable intergenerational conversations alongside their performances. Drawing inspiration from our annual show, Dance Around the World, this theme will feature in the first two tours, with the second taking place in local care homes and including a selection of junior classes performing adapted routines. We are so proud to be part of a project that brings generations together through music, dance and discussion, and we can’t wait to see it come to life while our dancers continue to grow through these unique and enriching experiences.

The Diamondz Performers Youth Dance Company (PYDC) proudly took to the stage at True Motion, a competition hosted by Hub Dance at the Lincoln Arts Centre. Showcasing a powerful creative contemporary piece, the dancers delivered a captivating performance inspired by the TV series The Last of Us. Choreographed by Abbi, the piece combined emotion, storytelling, and striking movement quality, leaving a lasting impression on both judges and audience members. Their dedication and artistry were recognised with an award for Outstanding Piece, highlighting the exceptional talent and commitment within the company.

Echoes was designed by Abbi Thompson ‘Diamondz Dance’ & Rebecca Loveridge ‘Adults Move Lincolnshire’ in August 2024.
The project was designed to combat social isolation in sheltered housing by bringing different generations together to share their love for music & dance.
Their second project the ‘Christmas Tour’ December 2024 included a dance performance for the residents, intergenerational group discussions about the true meaning of Christmas, sharing photos of Christmas memories and Christmas Carol singing with musician Amber Sinclair.

Impact Report
The experience of previous generations is echoed in the lives of young people. Echoes aims to bridge this gap and improve social isolation across the generations through the commonality of dance & music.
In August 2024, 8 young people embark on the Echoes Tour, visiting 5 sheltered accommodation community centres within South Holland over a period of 5 days. The young people has prepared a dance performance to showcase the residents of the areas, a memory board with thought provoking questions around music & dance, as well as some tik-tok dances to teach the residents.

The unexpected flash mob in the town centre of Spalding, Lincolnshire had a hugely positive impact on the local community. With around over 200 people, of all ages, coming together to support or express themselves through dance, the atmosphere was charged with joy and excitement.
The energy of the flash mob brought the whole town alive and reminded the locals of the power of joy and unity. It will undoubtedly live long in the memories of everyone who experienced it and its impact will help to pave the way for an equally impactful return of the Flower Parade.
Stephen Timewell (organiser of the Flower Parade) & volunteers raised over £200 in programme sales & donations.
"I have never witnessed community spirit so strong as that of my home town" - Stephen Timewell
A group of Diamondz School of Dance dancers put together a piece in collaboration with Callum Brazzo to perform at True Motion 2023.
The piece represented that dance is a universal language, and its impact spans generations. The spoken word piece is about empowering those that think differently through the language of movement, and the visual representation of the autistic pride flag, to show the common humanity we share.
Dancers, Abbi & Callum put this piece together in approximately 4hours and we were successfully chosen by the panel to be apart of the regional shortlist. We hope the message of this spreads far & wide as it’s something we are extremely passionate about 🥰
